Commercial Sales Representative – Salem

This position is responsible for John Deere Lawn and Garden and Commercial equipment sales, as well as other miscellaneous short line products.

Other duties include:

Perform initial sales calls on customers by visiting with them and introducing the products, service and people of Mid-State. During these conversations, determine customer’s equipment needs and assess the company’s ability to meet these needs.
Work to develop a long-term relationship with key customers, with the goal of obtaining repeat business and/or sales related referrals.
On all sold equipment, coordinate closely with the service department on anticipated delivery dates and the preparation time needed for new machinery.
Upon successful closing of sales, complete all required purchase order information and place required information regarding sold equipment in the sales department books.
Remain current on equipment product knowledge so that customers are provided with correct information and to assist in soliciting successful product sales.

Ag Service Technician – Watertown/Columbus

Continually develops skills in disassembly, assembly, and repair of components and equipment.
Performs basic testing on all machine systems.
Works toward improving diagnostic skills on all machine systems.
Performs all service tasks as assigned by service manager

The successful Service Technician will be able to diagnose most machine systems. Will perform disassembly and assembly of components. Determines best course of action to resolve problems on Ag equipment and performs repairs as needed in the most efficient and safe manner.

Ag TECH (John Deere Training Program) Available for 2019

The Agricultural Equipment Technology Program is designed to develop competent and professional agricultural equipment service technicians for entry-level employment to Mid-State Equipment. This course of study will specialize in agricultural tractors and implements. Students will gain technical expertise in hydraulics, power trains, electronics, fuel systems, heating, air conditioning and engine service. They will round out their professional skills with training in management, salesmanship, mathematics and principles.
